A Mid Summer Night's Dream Inspiration

Farm Flowers in the NYTimes!

We knew everyone else would catch up eventually (ha ha)... Great article and video in the NYTimes today about the farm flower movement here NY Times Farm to Centerpiece Movement .
Crazy about the work of Jennie Love of Love n Fresh Flowers in Philadelphia and Floret in Skagit Valley, Washington. Sooo much inspiration!! Here's a wild bouquet below that I created out of local farm and garden-grown flowers this paste September.

Oceanfront October Wedding

This Long Island Sound wedding at Shenorock Shore Club in Rye, NY was the perfect segue from fall into winter. Navy bridesmaids dresses, simple neutral linens, and bold pops of greens, plums and burgundy in the florals made this an elegant affair fit for fall without being overly autumnal. Sissy's Parade Day

One morning in high school at my friend Kerry's house, my teenage friends and I awoke to a boisterous and on-going chant of "Sissy's Parade Day" "Sissy's Parade Day" for what felt like hours. Turns out my friend's little sis (aka. Red) was in the town's Memorial Day parade that morning and this was her father's way of announcing it, and rousing all of us. To this day, when there is a big event for someone, I like to call it "Sissy's Parade Day". In this case, it really was Sissy's Parade Day!! ...
