Fall Magic in Newtown, Connecticut

This early October wedding was just the sweetest, most charming event held at a private, riverfront venue. Planned by the super-talented and adorable Hallie Slade of LA based La Boheme Events and photographed [beautifully] by Jessica at Brigham & Co.  Here's some autumnal eye candy!

Country Natural Wedding in the Woods

This is the kind of project I love -- a laid-back couple with the main objective of ensuring that their guests "have fun". SWND was involved in all aspects of this affair right down to the day-of planning -- and it was extra special that the bride and family are dear old friends.  The ceremony and reception were strategically planned a short distance away from one and other so guests could walk the lovely grounds of White Memorial and experience the scenic beauty of Litchfield County. A large tent in an open field, bluegrass band during cocktails, hay bails, dance music, and family style farm-to-table dinner served up the perfect mix of laid-back fun and country elegance. Lovely photos credit to Katherine Hay Photography.
Shepard's hooks with vintage jars lined the pathway from ceremony to reception.

Local dahlias, wildflowers and millet.

Seaside Summer from Scott W Baker Photo

Here are some beautiful summer shots from Scott W Baker Photography of a sample bouquet I did for an upcoming September bride (who also happens to be my sister!). The seafoam green and pine accents make this bouquet utterly Cape Cod without conforming to the traditional blue hydrangea bundle!

Festival Themed Camp Wedding

We couldn't have had more fun working alongside the amazing Brett Cameron of Brett Cameron Events on this unique, festival-inspired wedding at a private, family retreat complete with vintage mess-hall and theater. The look was a mix of free-spirited bohemian beauty and rustic elegance inspired by the one-of-a-kind outdoor setting.  Here are a few highlights!
We created this festive maypole inspired entry arch to welcome guests to the intimate ceremony.

The parasol ceiling treatment was an unexpected surprise to guests entering the transformed mess hall.

Rustic flowers in jars on natural wood stakes lined the pathway for guests to travel from one area to the next.

Old World Charm with a Literary Twist

Two English teachers getting hitched at the school where they teach was the perfect excuse to throw a literary-themed garden party of epic proportions. SWND brought in 40 lighted trees and shrubs to brighten the gigantic wood-paneled dining room. We also created a playful ceiling treatment above the dance floor with bistro lighting and paper lanterns.

Winvian Wedding in White

From the ivy and bacopa draped ceiling to the lush and creamy white peonies and garden roses, SWND loved every minute of this gorgeous Winvian wedding. Thanks to Winvian's amazing event designer Claire Gordon for her guidance, and to the beautiful couple Fraser and Rayna!

Adorably laid-back rehearsal dinner flowers.

Spring Smorgasbord

Here's a look at a few beauties from the past month at SWND ... we've been busy and gearing up for an even busier June!!
For this woodsy wedding, we interspersed sword ferns with hydrangea, local tulips, eucalyptus, and gypsophilia.

This french country fabulous event speaks for itself with the perfect touch of muted blues and grays.

This arrangement is the essence of elegant spring beauty featuring peony, larkspur, viburnum and waxflower.

These cute bouquets are a bit more fall than spring but ALWAYS a winner for a fun and festive wedding.

Sweet Sweet Spring

It's hard to beat the subtle beauty of spring blossoms like cherry, apple and dogwood mixed with astilbe, tulips and viburnum. I also find myself coming back to this color combination each Spring - so fresh and clean.
