Autumn Easy


Just when I thought all the blue berries I spied last week had disappeared...I find them! Greens and blue berries in a tin can. Sweet and simple with a manly elegance. Note: these porcelin berries are actually invasive in Connecticut.

Egyptian Papyrus in a Pot


I'm obsessed with this amazing egyptian papyrus plant on a neighbor's door stoop. I tried to find one in the nyc flower district and no such luck...only the traditional looking papyrus but not this variety with the smaller, poofier clusters at the end of long, narrow rays. Would be spectacular as an option for a more modern table arrangement or decor.

Dropped off these sweet & shiny little arrangements at the always-fabulous design boutique Pimlico in New Canaan, Ct. Silvery artemisia is one of my new favorite fillers.

Flowering kale or cabbage heads come in many sizes and colors, and make a cost effective statement for a rustic fall table arrangement, or garden/container planting.

Early Fall Favorites

This is the best time of year for scavenging grasses, berries, pods, and even lovely-looking weeds! This simple but festive arrangement utilizes seasonal hydrangea paniculata, sedum 'autumn joy', wild aster, pennisetum, and queen anne's lace (on it's way out).
