Loving the fresh and playful color combination of orange and purple, particularly in this shimmery mercury glass.

Dramatic Holiday Centerpieces
We love the challenge of having to create something fabulous for the Festival of Trees fundraiser event every year. This year SWND decided to stick to our rustic roots and paint these hollowed stumps with gold leaf and fill them full of festive beauty. For one arrangement we painted dried queen anne's lace gold to create a more structural (and permanent!) centerpiece and for the other, we fitted the stump with a glass vase and created a woodsy but elegant, winter arrangement with antique hydrangea, pepperberry, berzelia berries, and more.

The Joys of a June Wedding
Since requests are rolling in from June brides for 2013, I thought I'd post some inspiration photos from this country club chic wedding in Litchfield, one of SWND's past June weddings. Loved the fresh and clean look of this spring wedding. Photo credit: Dru Nadler.

Winvian Retreat
How can you go wrong at Winvian? The setting, the service, the style ... SWND was so excited to take on this corporate event that required three different designs for three different events. Here's what we came up with .... Using all local flowers!!
For the Reception {strawflower, solidago, amaranth, and assorted grasses} ...
For a picnic luncheon {sunflower, delpinium, hydrangea, dahlia} ...
For Dinner {hydrangea, dahlia, anemone, and snapdragon}...

Fun + Fabulous Norfolk Estate Wedding
Just received photos back from a gorgeous wedding I did back in July. This is a favorite because the bride and groom managed to capture that intimate, laid-back vibe while not skimping on ANY details. Photos by Natasha Montero.

Couldn't resist posting a few photos just back from the talented duo at hartnettstudio. The luscious peachy-pink garden roses from this wedding last June were so much fun!
