SWND was so happy to be included in this gorgeous Litchfield photo shoot elegantly captured by Michael Partenio for New England Home. I chose to incorporate subtle bursts of green to add a burst of freshness to the rooms but not take away from the beauty of the incredible interior. This unforgettable historic home is very lucky to have been found and masterfully decorated by current owner and art consultant Lauren Della Monica, LPDM Fine Art Consulting.

Now that it is getting cold and engagement season is upon us, let's look back to a fabulous July wedding with loads of style and elegance, but not an insane price tag. We just got these photos in and think that photographer Rebecca Hansen did an amazing job capturing the light and elegant feel of this beach side wedding in Madison, Connecticut.

Fall Fabulous

Oh how we love the warm colors of autumn. They couldn't have worked finer in this candle lit antique home in Litchfield. The bride wanted seasonal but also sophisticated. When she said she wanted to use gourds as vessels, I wasn't sure we'd be able to keep from looking too country, but by using the finest velvety petals in the brightest hues of orange and yellow, we managed to create luxurious arrangements with all the warmth but none of the country kitsch. photos by kyra hartnett, hartnettstudio.com.

We love the bride's idea to use guinea feathers in her white bouquet of orchid, freesia and roses - a small touch of autumnal creativity!

Late Summer Lavender, Litchfield, Conn.

This detail-oriented bride chose a lovely combination of lavender and gray to help create the relaxed outdoor look she was after. We used antique jars and bottles to decorate the long tables, along with a fresh mix of local fall flowers, herbs and grasses.
